Biogas as a Fuel.

Biogas is very versatile as a fuel and can be used in numerous applications from heating right through to a fuel to power your vehicle.

Biogas are made up of between 50-75% Methane(CH4), 50-25% Carbon Dioxide(CO2) and small amounts of Nitrogen(N2), Hydrogen(H2), Hydrogen Sulfide(H2S) and Oxygen(O2).

Methane is a big contributor to global warming and it is estimated to be 20 times more potent as a greenhouse gas than Carbon dioxide. All biomass that is left to digest will release methane into the atmosphere and worsen the effects of global warming we are already experiencing.

Biomass should not be left to digest without capturing and using the Biogas. Once biogas is burned as a fuel it does not release the harmful methane into the atmosphere.

Using biogas will fight Global warming in 2 ways: Using biogas will cause that less methane is released into the atmosphere and secondly, using biogas will cause people to be less dependant on fossil fuels or wood in rural areas both of which releases Carbon dioxide when burned.

So it is absolutely essential that this untapped source of energy is used.

Bio gas has been used as a fuel for Heating and Cooking in developing countries and to power buses and cars in developed countries just like liquid petroleum gas(LPG) is used.

Biogas is a very versatile fuel and can be produced quite easily under the right circumstances. It can be used as it for cooking and heating or with some processing it can be used to power a vehicle or generator.
